Clickshare Consumer Billing and Service Providers
The Clickshare Service provides sites that register users an opportunity to provide added value to their users at
little cost, and to benefit from a portion of the revenue stream generated by their users on all Clickshare-enabled
Content Provider (CCP) sites.
As a Clickshare Service Provider (CSP) your site registers and authenticates users, and communicates with the
Clickshare back-end to initiate Clickshare sessions for authenticated users.
In addition, your site defines the
mark-up applied to purchases by your users and bills users based on records forwarded from Clickshare. The
mark-up facility allows great flexibility in designing fee structures that are beneficial to your users and can attract
new users and keep existing ones. For example, your site could charge different mark-ups depending on how
much demographic information a user was will to let you collect; your site could provide different mark-ups for
different levels of membership at your site; your site could provide subscriptions with which charges up to some
threshold are waived.
Clickshare acts as a clearing house that collects payments from CSPs and passes them to CCPs. Most CSPs also
act as Content Providers. Many Content Providers choose to leave user registration and billing to other CSPs.
Clickshare provides the software necessary to communicate with the Clickshare back-end to initiate sessions and
receive reports. CSPs must provide their own user authentication and end-user billing environment. Sites that wish
