uclick USING CLICKSHARE SERVICE TO
TRACK AND CHARGE FOR DIGITAL CONTENT

Kickoff project offers cartoons, games, puzzles
through individual email subscriptions

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass., July 17, 2001 -- Clickshare Service Corp. [www.Clickshare.com] today announced an agreement to provide uclick [www.uclick.com] -- one of the most visited web networks -- with a transaction infrastructure for its new consumer subscription email service.

This service will offer premium content, including comics, editorial features, games and puzzles, advice columns, horoscopes, financial features, and more. uclick, a division of Andrews McMeel Universal, is the largest packager and distributor of comics and word games on the Web.

"Clickshare is the marketplace pioneer at turning content website visitors into paying customers," said Chris Pizey, uclick COO. "With Clickshare's transaction platform for digital content purchasing and distributed customer management, we can sell features to consumers through our news-industry partners -- rather than around them. It's an extension of the shared-value relationship we have always had with newspapers."

uclick (http://www.uclick.com/) will debut the Clickshare Service™ initially as a mechanism for selling subscription access to premium content attached to user-requested email. Individual consumers using the service will have the option of signing up for it via their local newspaper, which can control the customer relationship and billing. Users will also be able to purchase directly from uclick if they do not have a newspaper "infomediary" sponsor.

"uclick has some of the best content in the world and their newspaper clients have understood for decades the value of shared content," said Nell Fields, president of Clickshare. "Now uclick is taking this concept to the next stage by syndicating features on a fine-grained, user-by-user basis, in addition to the traditional, bulk-subcription print-on-paper approach. Until the Internet and Clickshare, that wasn't possible."
