WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass., March 10, 2006 – Crain Communications Inc., the U.S.
trade publisher with premier titles in automotive, advertising, insurance,
health-care and regional-business markets, has chosen Clickshare for managing
its online subscription processing and controlling user access to key websites.
Clickshare's patent-pending service uniquely provides both user authentication
and commerce services, as well as the option to link users among multiple
independent domains for affinity-group marketing and privacy-protected
purchasing.
“We are very pleased that we have partnered with Clickshare for our online
registration and subscription processing,” said Tomi Hubert, Vice-President of
Technology Services and Chief Information Officer at Crain. “The Clickshare
software provides us the robust interface that we need for our online
registration and subscription processing, and the service is
outstanding.”
Crain’s Cleveland Business, Automotive News, and Autoweek were rolled out
“in a very short timeframe,” said Hubert. “Crain’s Detroit Business will
be the next publication using Clickshare, with others to follow in the near
future.”
"Crain is one of the most respected names in trade publishing with an
unparalleled reputation for journalistic independence," said Rick Lerner,
Clickshare CEO. "The Crain family understands the value of unique, thorough
reporting and information -- and that's why we're so pleased to be assisting in
securing the Crain relationship with its users and readers."
Clickshare’s online registration and credit-card billing services is able to
provide print subscribers free access to premium content, while charging
ABC-certifiable web-only customers. It provides a full-featured site
registration, authentication and billing service -- subscription or per-click,
full or partial site -- and easily integrates with major web servers such as
Publicus, Olive, PBS and Lotus Domino.
Many newspapers and other publications also use Clickshare to manage and charge
for web archives from their own existing servers. Clickshare can also log and
track page access, for integration with ad-server technologies.
